Just right for that candlelit dinner for two. Multiple tealight holder in purpleheart. This is a variation on my usual five-tealight holder where the central tealight has been replaced by a domed pewter inset which will give interesting reflections when the tealights are lit.
The picture shows white tealights but they are also available in red and purple.
Care instructions
Made for standard 40 mm tealights. However, they do come in slightly different sizes. I make mine for (and supply them with) tealights from IKEA which are the biggest ones I have found. Others are a millimetre or so smaller in diameter and/or height but they should all fit in the holes provided. Fire and wood are awkward companions so always keep the tealight in the thin aluminium cases provided. If wax should spill onto the wood, let it dry and then gently scrape off as much as possible without damaging the wood; finally use a cloth to rub off the last bits.
Made on my lathe with standard turning tools. After inlaying the black and white stripes and some careful marking out I make the four outer holes as the last step with a pillar drill and a 40mm diameter Forstner bit.
